In search of spring

We set out today to look for signs of spring with our backyard nature supplies (and winter jackets). It snowed on Monday, so I wasn’t sure if we’d find much. I was pleasantly surprised:

There were about 10 goldfinches hiding in this evergreen tree, if you squint your eyes (and imagine with me), you can see a bit of yellow near the top of the tree trunk.

On thing sadly absent from our nature walk: other kids. I realize it was a bit of a nippy day, but really, there wouldn’t be a lot of other kids around even if it was warmer. A lot of the kids are either in school or at daycare.
