Fairy or Pirate Treasure Chest

I had found unfinished small boxes in the shape of a treasure chest at the craft store for about $1-$2.

I thought they’d be perfect child sized treasure boxes and they’d be wonderful filled with colorful treasures.

Since they were unfinished, I let the girls paint them with water-based acrylic craft paints. When they were dry, we filled them with treasures: colorful flat marbles that look like gems, fake gems in different shapes, acorns, polished stones, a gold coin, and of course, fairies and pirates (both from Playmobil).

This would make a great Easter gift for the fairy or pirate fan in your home.

Thank you! I think the girls did a good job of painting them and I love the fact that the girls still are very much into pirates and fairies and pretend play.

Yeah, we love playmobil over here a lot! It is one of the few plastic toys I’ve kept after ditching the rest of them because of the lead scares a while back.
