What I do when I’m not blogging or doing science experiments or parenting or researching about child development is make toys for my kids -
The dollhouse that dear husband made
Artist’s Sketch pad/pencil roll
Doll accessories
more hand painted wood animals

More gnomes and mushroom table and chairs

Ocean playmat for beach and pirate island

“Kitchen” made out of cabinets from the consignment store
Needlefelted blueberries, grapes and cherries/tomatoes (though, I have to admit, I didn’t make these myself, I bought them at a Waldorf needlefelting booth at the Renaissance Fair this year).
Ravioli
Bowtie pasta

Okay, I have these patterns for knit food that I’m probably never going to get around to doing. Your felt food is gorgeous –. I saw your veggies on your album and they are just too awesome for words! Did you come up with all these patterns in your head? I’m in love! And I haven’t even talked about the gnomes!
The fruit patterns were from a 1980’s McCall’s Chrismtmas pattern 7274 (I think) I found at a garage sale for 10 cents. The felt foodies were mostly inspired from what I saw online, and the donut, there is a tutorial for them I should go dig up and post.
The cookie and dough idea I stole from someone who actually made the same concept with gingerbread cookie cutters. The salad I just free-handed lettuce leaves and the cucumber slices I’d seen on someone else’s blog or Etsy shop or somewhere. Most times it’s just trial and error.
Wool blend felt holds up better than the all-acrylic felt, and you can get them at Joann’s or you can order other colors of wool felt from places like WeirDolls and Crafts.
